Materials Required |
| Watermelon | Toothpicks |
| Pen | Cherries |
| Large spoon or Scope | Round cuts of lemons |
| Long wooden skewer | A thick slice of carrot cut into rectangular |
Primary Steps |
| 1.Choose a large, oblong watermelon to make a salad basket like this. | ![]() |
| 2.Cut a thin slice from the bottom to provide a stable base, so that it doesn't knock off. | |
| 3.Draw the outlines for the ship as shown in the sample image with the help of a pen . | |
| 4.Use a sharp knife to cut out the design you have drawn. Cut all the way through the rind. Remove the top section of rind. |
To Proceed |
| 1.Clean the watermelon and remove all the pulp with the help of scoops. Be careful while scooping, it should not break. | ![]() |
| 2.Fill the melon with fruit salad or any other salad, depending on the size of the melon. | |
| 3.Cut the sail (2) from a section of the rind you removed. To make it more attractive write the name of the ship like "VOYAGER" or etc... | |
| 4.Attach the sail to the ship with a long wooden skewer. | |
| 5.To decorate the top: take a thick slice of carrot, give it a shape of flag and then take a toothpick, pierce it all the way through the flat end of the carrot and put a cherry on the top. | |
| 6.Now put this over the sail. | |
| 7.To make the wheels of the ship: Take one cut of the lemon, pierce a toothpick to it and in the end attach a cheery. Repeat this with others & fix as many wheels that fit onto the side of the ship. | |
| 8.Keep it in the fridge to cool & take it out only when everything is ready on the table. |
